One American restaurant chain, CKE Restaurant Holdings Inc., owns both Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s restaurants. Within their parent business, you’ll find both Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s locations. After a long marriage, Carl and Margaret Karcher opened Carl’s Jr., a fast food franchise, in 1941. With over a thousand outlets in 28 countries, the restaurant business expanded fast after deciding to start as a franchise.
